Chelsea's Broccoli Melt

Place broccoli in casserole dish, pour over cheese sauce, then tear stale bread into thumb size pieces and place on top of broccoli and mixture along with the rest of the cheese, pour a little olive oil over the top of this to make the bread crispy. Bake 25-35 minutes until golden brown on top. Serve immediately.

Serves: 8-10. Pour milk into a pan, bring to boil, and then simmer while adding flour, and 3/4 of the cheese. Chop bacon finely and add to cheese sauce mixture, along with minced garlic and nutmeg.

Preheat oven to 220 degrees. Chop Broccoli into florets. Boil florets in salted water for 7-10 minutes until tender.

  • 1 head of broccoli

  • 1 C of Cheddar

  • 1/2 pint of milk

  • 3 Tbsp. of plain Flour

  • 1oz. of stale Bread

  • 3 pieces of Bacon

  • A pinch of Nutmeg

  • 1 clove of Garlic

  • Coarse Sea Salt & Coarse Black Pepper
